Bengaluru is indeed blessed with natural beauty and pleasant climate, no wonder it is called the Garden City of India, Garden city because of the lush greenery and abundance of parks and trees. The natural setting of the city is splendid. It has every element that makes it one of the fastest growing cities in the world. There are many breath taking picnic spots which make for a perfect getaway during the weekends.

Here are a few exotic natural spots in and around Bengaluru that are a must go.
  • Savanadurga Trek - located about 60 km away from the city; it is an ideal spot for trekking. It rises to a height of 1200 meters; it also has some adventurous activities arranged. It is an ideal spot for picnics and for a short trip.

  • Ramanagara Trek - the place where the film Sholay was shot! It is located about 50 km away. It is a hub for many adventure activities and sports like trekking, rappelling, cave exploration etc. 
     
  • Nandi Hills - located 60 km away; it is a beautiful hill fortress also a popular re treat of Tippu Sultan. Climbing 1175 steps to reach the top rewards you with a splendid view of the city.

  • Mekedaatu - one of the most exquisite spots near the city. Located 110 km away; a mixed view of mountains and merging of rivers Cauvery and Arkavati. 
     
  • Madhugiri Fort Trek - is the second largest monolith in Asia. Ideal spot for trekkers and is located 3930 mt above sea level. The view from the hill is exquisite.
