Smartphones- Are they a problem to your personal life? Of course!

Smartphones are a mandate in today's era. Smartphones are in everybody's hand be it the kids or the older generation, even if they don't have an Aadhar card, they have a phone which is tagged smart. These miniature wonders easily fit in your pockets and give the information of the world at your fingertips. They are very helpful for getting information, socializing with people, learning new things and organizing your work. But does a Smartphone always have a positive effect on your life?? Let's see!

Harm to human relations
You must have experienced this situation where you are talking to someone and they are busy staring at their phone and are hardly paying any attention to you. Yes, this is pretty annoying; this can actually distort the relationship between the two of you. Overuse of Smartphone in the presence of other person, makes him/her feel neglected and insulted. People are losing out on social relations due to severe addiction to Smartphones.

Kids today are highly addicted to them because of games and social networking. This is creating a distance between them and their parents, because the kids no more need their company.

Thus it can be said that smartphones can connect you to the outside world but they surely disconnect you from the people around you.

What more?
Loss of communication, lack of mindfulness, destabilization of relationships, prioritizing the wrong models of communication, anxiety, stress and mental block are some of the effects of Smartphone overuse.

A study by Psychology of Popular media culture says that 70% of married women say that Smartphone is interfering in their relationships. This is called as “Technoference” by researchers.

A tool to affliction in 21st century
The growth of technology is rapid and it is producing stuff that help us grow but also hinder our growth in some manner! A tantalizing paradox! Studies show that a user checks his or her smart phone 150 times a day! Sometimes it leads to addiction and a person can develop a phobia of cannot living without a Smartphone. It can also affect the eye of an individual due to constant staring. Too much of texting or playing games like candy crush may lead to a condition called text claw where your fingers are cramped and aren’t capable of moving.
