What You Should Know About Infant Car Seats.


Babies are a blessing for a family. Their health and safety are of our utmost most concern. A lot of preparation is made before the arrival of the baby. The most important of all is having a car seat for the new-born. We need not expect an accident, but it is a must to have one starting its first journey from the hospital to your home. Precaution is better than cure they say, and we all must agree to that.

Do not buy a second-hand car seat as there would have been wear and tear during a crash. If you are planning to borrow a car seat, make sure that you have checked on all those straps and fittings. Not all car seats can fit in your car. It changes with different car models. Hence do not buy them without checking it. The criteria for buying a car seat should be on the grounds of its weight and height. Follow the instruction manual and fix it properly as they should not move more than an inch.

Everything comes at a price however you do get good ones for your budget and your requirements. Here are a few:

• If you are looking for a lower budget, you can think of having a car seat with a stroller ideal for a travel system. You will find them on stroller aisle.

• If you are planning on a convertible car seat, then look for a model that has shoulder straps, waist straps, straps between the legs, extra air pads for the sides of the baby’s head and which easily fastens the seat belts. 

• If you are ready to invest a little higher, then you can expect features that would have a larger canopy, soft fabric anti-rebound bar and a little boot around the baby’s feet.

It is always better to have your car seats checked by a professional to make sure it is installed properly. For all those mothers who stay at home nursing, the baby would love an outing and having the car seat not only ensures a safe sleep for the infant during the travels but also allows the mother to rest a while.
