Kashmir is known as the abode of heaven, because of its breathtaking beauty, dazzling snow-capped mountains, picturesque tulip gardens to praise about.

There are a number of places to visit which will awe you like Srinagar is the state’s winter capital; Gulmarg is known as Asia’s premier resort; Pahalgam is known as the valley of shepherds; Sonmarg known as the ‘Meadow of Gold’; Yusmarg is regarded for having some unique spring flowers ; Verinag Kokernag, Dodhpather is called the valley of milk which is known to produce rich milk in large quantity; Lolab Valley is known for its fruit orchards, lake, springs and lush paddy fields; Gorez Valley is rich in diverse fauna and wildlife including the Himalayan brown bear and snow leopard .

Apart from sightseeing, one can try the adventure sports like skiing, golfing, river rafting, mountain biking, trekking, paragliding, bird watching, horse riding and so on. Kashmir is also popular of its temples and monasteries.

It is also said that Kashmir is known as the Switzerland of India because of the flowers which grow during the spring and snow during the winter. If one visits Kashmir they will observe the pretty wooden houses in the villages. One can’t ignore the shikara boat rides, lush green forests, the green hills which are compared to the Alps of Europe.

Kashmir is also a photographer’s favorite place because of the impressing wildlife it offers. One can spot a leopard, black bear, brown bear while trekking and migrating birds come to sight while bird watching; wildlife sanctuaries like Dachigam wildlife sanctuary, Gulmarg Biosphere reserve.
