 Yes, we all love junk food. Though they are termed as junk, they still cast their magical spell on us. They are incredibly tasty and are consumed plentifully all over the world. They are foods that are basically high in sugar or fat. Their nutritional value is low and they lead to several health conflicts like obesity, diabetes and cardio diseases. Yet on the other hand they are super toothsome. Junk foods include burgers, pizza, chips, hot dogs, candies, soft drinks and the like. 
 
Why are they so popular? 
 
Junk food is indeed very popular in today’s date. It comes in a variety of lip smacking tastes and people fall prey to it. Now it is an important part of the modern culture. There are several avenues that provide junk food on the go. 

These places are the paradise of junk food; they provide a variety of foods like pizzas, burgers, chicken, fries and most importantly soft drinks that adds to the quality of junk. 
 
These avenues have spread all over the world and attract people towards them, clearly because of their awesome taste. They also provide a fast filling to your stomach without much spending.

Health effects and some Anti-Junk measures

Junk foods have a devastating effect on health and appetite because it can cause problems like diabetes, obesity and other cardio vascular diseases. There were many tests and studies conducted in USA and other cities, it showed that people have become addicted to junk food and how these foods have led to many chronic health diseases in children. Junk food is widely consumed in America and hence America celebrates National Junk Food Day on July 21 annually. It’s not really an easy task to live without junk food. But looking at its ill effects we must try. Junk foods can be avoided by consuming a wide variety of foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and staples. The government of various countries has taxed it due to its wide consumption. Guidelines have been issued for nutritional consumption. Children must be discouraged from heavy consumption.

Junk food is indeed very tasty but it also has only ill effects. It must be consumed in a balanced diet. Better still, avoid it completely. As they say, health is wealth, so health comes first!
