After the final bell - Fun activities post school

Are you one of those parents who worry about how their children might end up with only degree and no other skills? First, let’s think; are you, as a parent, providing them with the opportunities to explore their talents and skill based activities? If not, then don’t worry. It’s never too late. But if you are worrying about what you might want to put them into, we might be of help to you. Some parents would want their children to excel in fields that are peculiar; that are different from the rest. Here are a few ideas that not many could think of:

1. Crafts: Though a huge population indulges in activities dealing with crafts, very less people take the subject seriously. Many fail to understand that the subject has potential to become a career based topic. Try admitting your children to craft skills and see how their skills are experimented.

2. Football: In a country like ours, cricket is the only religion the sport enthusiasts follow. But the truth is there are more soccer fans than cricket fans all over the world. Parents might not be very happy with their son/ daughter going ahead in this field as most of them feel this will not fetch them a living in a country like ours. But few soccer players, for that matter, are the highest paid sportsmen in the world.

3. Writing clubs: With the increase in budding writers making big noise in the market, the stereotypic belief that writing won’t fetch you a living is mere nonsense now. Writing is one of the most happening professions as of now. From content writing, to technical writing, writing gives you a lot of options to choose from.

These are a few activities that you might want your children to take up seriously. The society might not approve of it, but as they say, those who do not believe in you, will, someday tell people how they met you!
