Treat Your Feet to a Relaxing Pedicure
If
manicure is for hands, then pedicure is for feet. Popular mostly among women,
it is an external therapeutic and cosmetic treatment given to the feet by means
of cleaning, scrubbing and filing the toe nails. Perhaps, the most over-used
part of our body is our feet. The only time one would give rest to them is
during night when we go to bed. The feet which toils so much for you, needs
some pampering too.
Types of Pedicures:
These
days spas and salons are offering various pedicures depending on the
requirements of the customers. Surprisingly, most women are not aware of the
various types of pedicure treatments that are available. Take a look at some of
the most popular types of pedicure.
Regular Pedicure: This is the most common pedicure which involves soaking of the
feet in warm, scented water for some time, followed by scrubbing, trimming and filing
of toenails, and massaging the feet. The procedure is completed by applying
polish to toenails.
Mini Pedi: This is same as regular pedicure but the time taken is less. People who
are short of time could opt for this procedure.
Paraffin Pedicure: The feet are dipped into the wax or paraffin is brushed
over the feet after a thick coat of moisturizer is applied on to the feet.
Later, when the wax dries it is peeled off. This procedure is best suited for
people with dry feet, as paraffin is believed to be a great moisturizer.
Stone Pedicure: In this type of pedicure, oil is massaged into the feet and
lower legs with hot stones. Stone pedicure is more of a massage pedicure.
French Pedicure: Similar to regular pedicures, French pedicures are the most
popular ones. Here, in addition to the regular pedicure, the toenails are
either left natural or covered with pink polish. White polish is applied to the
tip of the nails, while a clear polish is covered throughout.
In
addition to the above, there are few unusual pedicures such as chocolate, wine
& margarita pedicures.
Whatever
be the type of the pedicure, the undeniable fact is pedicures are a must
indulgence for your feet.
