Germany- the Car Maker
Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Volkswagen, Porsche, Opel-
you name it, Germany has them all. Yes, Germany a major economic and political
power of Europe is also one of the largest car makers in the world. The
automobile industry here is one of the largest employers and has a labor force
of 866,000 working in this industry. Currently, it has the third highest
automobile production in the world and fourth highest total motor vehicle
production (after China, United States and Japan).
History:
Germany is home to many pioneers of the
automobile industry like Karl Benz, Nikolas Otto, and Gottlieb Daimler. They
developed the combustion engine and the world’s first car was developed by Karl
Benz which became the modern day car. By 1901, Germany started producing 900
cars per year.
Made in Germany :
Today this country is home six most important
car manufacturers namely; Audi, BMW, Borgward, Mercedes, Opel, Porsche. Today
it produces over 6 million vehicles every year. The company Volkswagen stands
out to be one of the top 3 car producers of the world along with General Motors
and Toyota. It can be seen how the auto motor Industry of Germany is
flourishing and also is acting as an important source of revenue and national
income to the country. Some legendary car brands belong to this country like
Audi, BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche. The
first car if the world was made by Karl Benz the founder of Mercedes. Today
Mercedes makes some coolest cars of the century but BMW and Audi are no less.
Mercedes AMG, GLA Class, CLS Class, BMW 350d, 720ld, X6, Audi A8, RS5, R8, Q7
are some of the legendary ones.
All in all Germany justifies the saying,
“Drive German!”
