Known as the “Jewel of the Southern India”, situated in the state of Tamil Nadu, Yercaud is a paradise for the trekkers and nature lovers. Located in the Eastern Ghats of the Southern India at an altitude of 1515 meters above sea level, this place is purely enchanting.

  • ·       Anna Park situated near the lake offers boating which is truly enlivening.
  • ·      There is a wonderful trekking trail which meanders around the lake town. On this trek, there are a couple of mesmerizing viewpoints; Manjakuttai Village and the Pagoda Point. The Sunrise point at Manjakuttai Village opens up into a view of a lifetime to each and every trekker.
  • ·       National Orchidarium and Botanical Garden with over 1800 shrubs and 3000 trees is located in this valley. It is a wonderful place for the botanists.
  • ·       The Plantation lovers can visit the 9000 acre coffee plantation with the soothing aroma of fresh coffee.
  • ·       The cyclists’ trail which is 120 km long is a trail surrounded by citrus and jackfruit trees.
  • ·       Kiliyur Falls is the most famous attraction of the place. The excess water from the lake and other small streams cascades to a 300 ft drop which is breathtaking. One can also trek down to these falls.
  • ·      The tribals celebrate their annual festival in May at the Servaroyan Temple. Big Lake, Small Lake, Lady’s Seat and Bear’s Cave are the other places of visit.


The seemingly endless greenery, mammoth mountains and the flora and fauna surrounding, makes it an exotic hill station.
