Best time to visit popular destinations in Kerala
Kerala is blessed with a very pleasing and enjoyable climate throughout the year. Kerala has three tourist seasons which ranges from September to march, off season from April to May and monsoon season from June to August. Each season in Kerala makes it a unique and ideal destination for tourists.
Summer season begins in the month of March and continues till May. During this period Kerala receives some rainfall and experiences hot and humid weather. However, the cool breeze from Arabian Sea is a relief. Summer is a good season to visit, especially if you feel like braving heat, plan your travel from April through may and enjoy the less congested, less expensive travel experience.
Places to visit in summer: Munnar, Thekkady, beaches of Alleppey, Thiruvananthapuram and attractions of Wayanad. You can also visit wildlife sanctuaries and spice plantations. This is also the best time for viewing elephants as they spend most of the time in water.
Monsoon in Kerala arrives in the month of June and lasts till august. Kerala will be at its most beautiful in this time of year with verdant tea gardens and greenly hill stations.
