The word video Game is seen as having a negative impact on social life. It is common to see people glued to their smartphones all the time. You can see youngsters at cafes, public places and functions deeply engrossed in playing video games and not interacting with anyone. But are video games so bad that it has been attributed to causing obesity, depression and other disorders. But it can be conveniently said that if people engage in playing video games only for a stipulated time, then there can be no harm.
There are some incredible benefits of playing video games also.
1.Detailed video games involving aiming and shooting at objects improve declining vision. Yes, playing too long may cause harm but regular looking away from the screen is advisable.
2.Recent studies say that video games may help you to get over depression as you are given control of your world in the game. But beware, this is not for all video games.
3.All video games are not violent. Some games like Sims are not at all violent and are pleasant to play.
4.Many video games have physical aspects which do not make you sit in a place and become obese. There are some games which are specially designed for physical fitness.
5.Many games are designed for children who help in improving their vocabulary, coordination and creativity. The only concern here is they need to be monitored, and care has to be taken that it does not become an addiction.
6.Video games are advisable for patients whose mobility is curtailed. This keeps them engaged and lets them forget about their ailment.
7.Lastly, video games can help in enabling teamwork. There are video games that have been created that involve a team of people working together toward a common goal.
So, it can be summed up that playing video games is not at all a bad idea. But as they say, “too much is too bad”, you need to set your limits in advance.
